DNAide has partnered with Femade to bring you three unique genetics classes. These classes are perfect for learning more about fertility genetics in a virtual group setting.
Preconception Genetics Class
This class will teach you everything you need to know about the different genetic tests available to people in Ontario who want to have a baby. In Ontario, genetic testing usually isn’t discussed until you are already pregnant or are working with a fertility clinic, and even then you likely won’t get a lot of information from your doctor. Learning about genetics sooner can make sure you have more time to process the information, and decide what you want to do with it! If you want to make sure you are getting all of the details so you can make an informed decision, this class is for you!
Donor Conception Genetics Class
This class will help you understand the role that genetics and genetic testing plays in selecting a sperm or egg donor. Donor selection can be an overwhelming process and your fertility clinic may not have the capacity to provide a lot of guidance. We’ll walk through a donor website, and Meaghan will point out areas of the profile for you to pay attention to. We’ll talk about different strategies for genetic testing that can fit your needs when working with a donor. If you are feeling confused and alone as you move forward, Meaghan can help.
Prenatal Genetics Class
This class will teach you everything you need to know about the different genetic tests available to pregnant people in Ontario. Your GP or OB/GYN will review your genetic testing options with you, but they have a lot of things to talk to you about, and a lot of patients to see. If you want to make sure you are getting all of the details so you can make an informed decision, this class is for you! To make sure you have enough time to think through your testing options, we recommend you attend the class before your 12-week appointment with your doctor.
